Photographer’s Note
The Australian Pelican is the largest species of Pelican standing up to 1.8m with a wingspan of 3.4m. They can live up to 25 years.
This one was found at Ricketts point, with Alfred (alftrek) and Santo (skippy007). (There is a superficial resemblance between a pelican and a penquin, but I know it is not a penquin as they can't fly, and this bird can)
Ricketts Point is a marine sanctuary on Port Philip bay in the south east surburbs of Melbourne. The sandstone rock extends from the shore and supports a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Hi Steve.
I see the old Minolta lens is still producing the goods. Excellent capture, good sharpness and detail. You even have a sparkle in his eye. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hello Steve,
When it comes to wildlife shot, we can never beat you. The sharpness is great and the penguin is well posed staring at you. Good sparkling light from his eye. We should go out again sometime, perhaps December

You've concealed the doughnut shaped bokeh nicely here. I like the close crop and the slight vignette (which I presume comes with the lens) works well here.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Steve, yep definitely not a penguin. Has someone broken the news to Alfred? Beautifully captured in the vertical frame. The blurred blue tones of the water so magnificently contrast with the black and white of your "pengui-can". I can see a partial reflection in the FG, did you manage a shot including that? If so, I'd love to see it. Thanks again for sharing and I look forward to seeing more of your photos of Rickett's Point. Warm regards, Lisa.
