Photographer’s Note
Looking across the Grindelwald valley to the Schreckhorn (4078 m high) and other peaks of the Bernese Alps. This photo was taken from near First. It's easy to get to First - you just take the gondola from Grindelwald. From First there are many hiking trails giving views like this.
Polariser used. I lightened the shadows in the foreground using a contrast mask in Photoshop because the original photo was quite dark to avoid over-exposing the snow. The contrast mask also gave more definition to the clouds.

This has been an excellent series of Swiss mountain shots Vincent - another stunning composition. Looks like care is still needed when walking, even in June.
cheers

Vincent,
This is a fine mountain scene . The melting snow in the foreground adds a nice point of interest. The V in the foreground frames the more distant mountains beautifully. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

Hi Vince, this idyllic-looking photo was achieved by some hard work and great photographic skills. I find snow and running water in such conditions so easy to "blow-out" so can appreciate how difficult it was to "keep everything" well exposed. It goes without saying that the image is beautiful, has wonderful depth and looks very "finished". Some would have cloned out the bits of road, but I like them included as they give us an idea of height and scale. TFS and have a wonderful week - don't work too hard, Lisa.
