Photographer’s Note

Beach bonfire weather. This photo was taken at Rotary Beach, south of Ketchikan, around 3pm on a late fall, rainy day. It looks as if there is plenty of bonfire materials available, although getting a bonfire started will be a challenge in this weather.

Hello Judy.
Can't imagine why this has not drawn one comment so far. I think the composition is great and the colours seem natural (although I confess I have never been to Alaska). I like the view over the foreground lumber to the outcrop of trees. The overhanging bare branches nicely fill up some of the sky. It does look cold, although I'm sure it gets much colder and probably ices over later in winter.

PS: Temperature wise we are ideal in the lower 48 west coastal states. The ocean acts like an air conditioner, never too hot or too cold. And late fall and winter are ideal to visit because the summer day trippers are gone.

Hello Judy,
Another beautiful photo from your world, this time at late fall. I like the atmosphere of the rainy day here. A good composition with the hanging branches on the top and the lumber brought by the waves on high tide on the foreground.

Une autre belle photo de ton cru, il ne me reste plus qu'à sortir mes pinceaux pour en faire un tableau mais je crois que je ferais une plage plus confortable. Excellente composition et bel éclairage malgré un ciel nuageux. J'aime beaucoup.
