Photographer’s Note

'Baengnyeongdo Island is located in the West Sea, and it is named so from a legend that tells of a young man who died of love, and numerous white cranes flew in and covered his body. The name means 'white crane wings.'

"This rock is so named because it resembles a dragon ascending to the sky. The rock itself features an impressive shape that spirals towards the sky. Yongteurim-bawi ('Bawi', is Korean for 'Rock') at left, is a habitat for cormorants & seagulls." There's a grey cormorant atop the rock, too. Additionally, there are 300 protected grey spotted seals, living on a rock, on the central north coast of the island.

Yongteurim-bawi is located on the central south coast of Baengnyeongdo Island, which is about 15 km wide. I liked the additional diagonal line provided by the fishing boat, & its wake. 'Bawi' is Korean for 'Rock', & 'Do' = Island
