Photographer’s Note

Lately in the commercial harbour of Cagliari, in the place where in the past landed the Ferry-boats which linked Sardinia to the Continent, a new marina for maxi yachts has been built.
Among the first boats which moored to the newly laid pontoons you can see the Norwegian three-masted schooner Den Store Bjørn.

Recentemente nel porto commerciale di Cagliari, dove prima attraccavano I traghetti per il continente, è stato allestito un nuovo marina per maxi yachts, chiamato “Portus Calaris”.
Tra le prime imbarcazioni ad attraccare ai nuovi pontoni si può ammirare la goletta norvegese a tre alberi d’epoca Den Store Bjørn.

Una molto bella immagine, qui gradisco particolarmente l'atmosfera molto ben captata. Ottima inquadratura per la barca, incredibile et bei colori nel cielo ed anche nel mare con i riflessi. La nera siluetta del barca dà uno molto bello graffico effeto.

Ciao Donato,
perfect presentation of this impressive sailing boat with the subdued light,and the sun still painting pastoral colours in the clouds makes this a memorable shot.Excellent sunset time with the sea to be painted with the orange tints of the sky.Maybe i wished for a little bit more headroom over the top of the masts,but still,wonderful image,that looks like as a post cart. Informative and complementary the WS to give a whole idea for the region.

Incroyable cette coïncidence ! Il y a assurément de la télépathie dans l'air ! ;-)
Si ta goélette n'avait eu que 2 mâts, j'aurais pu penser que nous avions même photographié le même bateau ! ;-)
Nos photos sont cependant très différentes. Je n'avais pas ces magnifiques couleurs de soleil couchant ! C'est vraiment très beau !
C'est une photo très esthétique avec ce cordage qui ressort très bien sur le ciel coloré. On perçoit vraiment bien les détails du cordage.
La qualité est bonne (sans trépied en plus!). Le ciel est peut-être légèrement bruité mais ce n'est pas gênant pour apprécier le spectacle.
L'exposition est très bien gérée, le ciel est coloré et la mer l'est tout autant. Ce qui est fait que ta photo est très agréable à regarder en tous points. J'aime bien la présence des nuages qui apportent une richesse supplémentaire à ta composition et équilibrent la répartition des couleurs.
Je n'aurais peut-être pas choisi le même POV (je préfère quand on ressent un peu la forme de la coque) mais je ne sais pas si tu avais la possibilité de faire autrement.
J'ai regardé la photo du WS mais je t'en parlerai une autre fois sans quoi il n'y aura plus de places pour les commentaires à venir !

Cette photo me semble la meilleure des deux. J'aime la composition qui est centrée sur le sujet, le bateau. Le contre-jour sur un ciel aux belles couleurs du couchant est réalisé avec une grande maîtrise.

Ciao Donato,
un bel tramonto caldo con un tre alberi d'epoca e' una combinazione irresistibile. Mi piacerebbe vedere anche una versione un po' piu' da lontano per avere un po' piu' di cielo e un po' piu' di mare. Il momento e' a mio avviso (ma mi pare di capire anche a tuo parere) e' il piu' bello della giornata.

Ciao Donato. Quasi quasi ci faccio un poster. Una vista di fascino dal fine dettaglio e sfumature d'atmosfera. Cielo intriganteUn cm in meno in basso ed uno im più in alto è sarebbe stata composta perfettamente. L'albero maestro è un po' "costretto".

Finalmente ti cimenti in una silhouette!
Più che da cartolina è da francobollo tanto è stipata nel riquadro (visto risposta a Roberto...) però è ben realizzata, con mano ferma e colori piacevolissimi che degradano dal cielo in blue hour fino al rosa quasi da alba. Sensazionali anche gli alberi riflessi, forse con un tripod e una priorità sui tempi si sarebbero potuti cogliere meglio, ma si sà che quelli sono attimi di luce che vanno presi al volo, senza troppi ma perchè...

Ci poteva stare anche un formato quadrato, con qualche centimetro in piu' sopra e anche sotto, a sottolineare i riflessi sull'acqua dei tre alberi. Va comunque bene così, un po' di rumore nel cielo non disturba e credo sia lo scotto da pagare per avere un'ottima esposizione come questa in condizioni di luce difficile.

What a wonderful atmosphere in this fine shot of the over hundred years (!) old wooden schooner moored in the marina of your home city. You have caught the right moment after sunset, where there still was enough light to see the reflections of the masts. The silhouetted masts and ropes are creating a nice graphical effect. The colours of the sky are most beautiful and the late evening clouds are a bonus too. A photo "to dream into"!

questa è una foto che qualsiasi marinaio o apassionato di barche vorrebbe avere appesa al muro di casa sua. Stupenda immagine, dove la suggestiva silhouette della goletta contrasta con la luce del tramonto. Piacevolissima la perfetta definizione dei dettagli, come le manovre, le sartìe e perfino i bozzelli. Una delle più belle della tua gallery, complimenti!

For me, one of the best subjects to be shown as silhouettes are boats, for their characteristical shape full of details like the ropes and stairs. And you show it with a wonderful sky behind, with excellent colors! Wonderful job!

ah, appena le ritrovo le passo allo scanner..voglio proprio postare qualche foto di quei bei traghetti delle FS che facevano la spola col continente! Intanto mi godo le tue di navi e barche....c'è un sito norvegese abbastanza comprensibile che è una manna per gli amanti delle navi: conosci "fakta om fartyg"? bè, facci un salto, è solo in norvegese ma si capisce se mastichi un po' d'inglese...c'è tutto lì!
L'atmosfera della tua foto invece, trovo si sposi benissimo con questo bel vascello...complimenti e buon WE.

I had left this one behind me, depite the beautifull sunset background. And now tha I come to see this schooner with her finely detailed rigging, it is one I have seen before during an old Tall Ships' Race! I have to find when now.
