Photographer’s Note
This is not a "classic" photo by any stretch of the imagination. It was taken whilst my wife drove and I half stood up in our rented convertible to get my camera over the windscreen so to get a clear shot.
What I like about this photo is that I think it is representative of the rarely photographed - but often experienced - part of touring this part of the US which is hours of looking at desert, mountains and bright blue sky.
So, a little bit different, hope you like it for its variety, if not its perfect focussing and textbook composition etc.

Hi Paul,
This is an amazingly clear shot with wonderful colours. My favourite is the harsh yellow sign in the middle, and the fact that is matches the lines on the road :). Nice capture!

Hello again Paul
To being taken under the circumstances you describes, this is really good. You manage to give us a realistic glimpse into this dry landscape without too many landmarks to focus on. The impression of speed in combination with a good DOF, the great sky and the simple combinations of colours, with the yellow line and sign as points that brings life into the barren landscape, makes this a great image. Keep on shooting! Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day.
Best regards, Erling
