Photographer’s Note

A fresh image to show those who still can't believe it that the autumn has reached the northern hemisphere (including Bavaria), yesterday the Alsatian plain and hills remained under a thick gray layer, still a bit of glow came from the gold carpet covering the ground, as can be seen on the right of the image it is the end of the golden autumn glow here, this year it did not last long at all.
Oh, and everybody should have recognized the fortified landmark Papagolfade in Hunawihr...

Bonsoir Jean-Yves,

C'est effectivement en cette époque que les vignes sont les plus belles et les plus colorées. La difficulté est de trouver le bon POV pour les prendre.
Et le tien est bien trouvé. Tu as réussi à trouver un point permettant de dominer un peu les vignes.
J'aime bien la composition avec ces vignes qui montent vers l'église. Les couleurs et les contrastes des vignes sont bien rendus, beau travail.
Je perçois juste un voile au niveau de la bâtisse qui me gêne un peu et qui est dû à mon avis à ton PP sur le ciel. Original le choix du ciel gris mais j'aime bien, les contrastes sont intéressants.

The vineyards have wonderful golden colour. and the grapes, are all collected. I remember the vineyards in Mosel Valley, the cpollected even in December, after the first frosts.
Nice church in hunawihr. some years ago I went there and was in Riquewihr. funny names :))

Bien joué le titre! A part ça, on admire la compo , l'opposition de couleurs entre vignes et ciel gris (t'as cassé ton filtre bleu?) et le POV qui semble faire jaillir l'église des vignes (du seigneur...)

Hello Jean-Yves,

Tu as eu raison de ne pas te laisser dissuader par le temps gris. Il manque certes de la lumière sur les vignes mais le traitement sur le ciel gris contraste bien les plants jaunis par l'automne.
Je vois que les églises dans les vignes ne sont pas une exclusivité du lac de Bienne... ;-) Par contre pour le lac lui même... ;-)

Stunning picture, boldly composed and with great combination of colours that seem to have their own source of light. Of course, the golden flowers are superb, but for me the twin tiny highlights of the clock hands and the white cross are the focal points. The thin cross atop the church is perilously close to the top of the photo. And I wonder if you added a gradient to the sky - in any case it looks impressive above the golden blanket. Excellent presentation of this church.

Printemps, été, automne, hiver... Inlassablement le cycle recommence. Les feuilles tombent, puis renaissent pour donner leurs fruits...
Cette "papagolfade" ressort magnifiquement sur ce ciel gris et ce cépage aux feuilles mordorées du plus bel effet.

Un ciel qui apparait quelque peu vide mais compensé par des éléments percutants.

Je crois que tu m'as déjà fait le reproche sur le même genre de situation, alors voici le jour de ma vengeance enfin arrivé; je considère que la girouette superposée à la croix est trop près du cadre. Pafff! Voilà, c'est dit, je m'en veux un peu mais il est trop tard, mon "undo" ne fonctionne pas ce soir... :-P)

C'est une photo un peu innatendue de ta part, quelque chose de mélancolico- minimaliste.

The lovely composition was the first apparent feature; it follows the rule of thirds with the sharp, focal image nicely off-centre.
There is a pleasing contrast between the vivid gold of the f/g and the hint of mist of the b/g.

J ai reconnu tout de suite. Je connais bien cette eglise pour l avoir aussi pas mal photographiée. J ai des amis qui habitent la region et je pense de temps en temps a coté.
Jolie composition grise et or (de la couleur des nectars locaux).
Au regard du rendu du ciel, je suppose que tu as utilisé un filtre degradé gris neutre?

Often the best images are the most simple: a good subject, the church with this imposing bell tower creating a kind of diagonal, and a very good surrounding, the golden vineyard. Very essential and with a quality which hits the eye. Maybe only the sky is not so appealing... but you can't have everything!
