Photographer’s Note
The Field
Stanton Drew, Somerset, UK
Stanton Drew is reputedly the scone largest stone circle in Britain, at least in terms of circumference; although this fact does nothing to alleviate the difficulty in finding an interesting way to photograph its few remaining protrusions in an interesting way on such a dull afternoon.
This, at least, was my solution, and my thanks go to the tree, for waiting around for such a long time. It's a sort of energy field thing! Perhaps.

Hello Colin! I was running around trees and stone myself this afternoon (but with NO camera and I thought for a moment why on earth I had left the camera at home, but it was necessary, I wanted to see nature with my eyes and not behind a camera). Yeah, sometimes it is not easy to find a good solution although you see the potential and the beauty. You found an interesting way, the b/w was a good move too although I don't mind overcast skies at all. I hope you came back loaded up with new energy :))) Have a great night ... Barbara.
PS. Was good to hear from you again ... more later.

Hi Colin,
Long time no see, obviously you've been walking around that foreground rock for some time trying to decide on an interesting composition.
The tree reminds me of the energy flashes you see in those weird lights.
B/W has worked well, good choice to overcome the grey sky.
Regards
Peter

beau choix du Noir et Blanc et bel angle de prise de vue; j'aime beaucoup l'idée de ne pas montrer le tronc de l'arbre!
