Photographer’s Note
Sound Of Silence Youtube:
The road to Neist point lighthouse on the Isle of Skye is a long and hazardous one if you have to drive back after sunset. This photographer (if you can spot him in large post) had been photographing earlier along with many others and as the sun had already set it was getting dark. His partner who stayed in the car wanted to leave because of dangerous drive back to Portree. My wife who was sitting in our car told me they had a argument about it but he told her he "had to go back down" to get the shot. Yes i know the feeling.
Anyhow sometimes we take risks getting the shot we want, sometimes we don't get it :( But really this is why we do it. It gets dark and you have it all to yourself and what a feeling standing here taking in this awesome view. By the time I had decided to leave all were gone and it was very dark. The only sound to be heard was the wisper of the wind the clatter of my walky-talky with Joanna saying "Stephen where the hell are you we have to go"..
On our drive back home I passed a car that had left the road and was laying on its roof with the lights still on. I reversed and my blood went cold expecting the worse but there was no one in the car and it looked like the emergency service had already been and gone.

Hi Stephen
Very original vertical panoramic view. A shame we can't have a large version for this kind of photo on TE. The colours and the light are great.

Hello Stephen,
Superbe composition tout en profondeur ! De belles nuances de couleurs, un cadrage étudié et abouti, c'est parfait. Ces falaises sont gigantesques au vu de la taille de la "petite" précence humaine, bienvenue dans cette image.
Bravo !
Cyrille.

Stephen,
This is an outstanding shot! I especially like the inclusion of the person standing on the edge showing us how overwhelming this place is. The vertical format is great allowing us to see the depth of the scene. The lighting and colors are great as is the sharpness and DOF. The pink clouds add a nice finishing touch for the shot. This shot was definitely worth the wait!

Hi Steve,
amazing photo - especially in the large version! Yes, we need to take risks sometimes, even if we don't get what we want, just to make sure that we're not sleeping...
That light house, those cliffs, the stones and the green - what a fabulous shot you got!! And I can hear the whisper of the wind...
Thanks and watch out for yourself!
