Photographer’s Note
A devotee or 'Ma Song' (meaning entranced horse), bares self inflicted wounds along his pilgrimage during the 'Phuket Vegetarian Festival'. During the journey, this Ma Song will periodically stop to cut his back as part of this sacred ritual to bestow good fortune upon him and his family.
