Photographer’s Note

This is a photo of a Skrapari house on Tomorri Mountain. I am not sure what this house is used for now but the slate roof is a very good example of the way people in this region roof their houses. There is a deep gorge between the house and the mountain opposite which is called the Ramies Mountain but also the "Tea Mountain" as many people climb up there to collect a type of herb which is then drank as tea.(The scientific name is Sideritis syriaca) Same herb is use in Greece and other Balkan countries as tea. In early summer the whole mountain is just a carpet of flowers.
