Photographer’s Note

Le rocher Percé est un îlot rocheux, aux falaises escarpées et avec une arche naturelle et spectaculaire, qui se trouve dans le golfe du Saint-Laurent, à l’extrême est de la Gaspésie, face au village de Percé, au Québec.

Le rocher fait partie, avec l'île Bonaventure voisine, du Parc national de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé,
la photo a été prise depuis l'île de bonaventure,paradis des oiseaux et plus particulierement des fous de bassan.

Perced Rock is a rocky island with steep cliffs and a spectacular natural arch, which is located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence to the far eastern Gaspé, opposite the village of Percé, Quebec.

The rock belongs, with the nearby Bonaventure Island, Parc national de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé

the photo was taken from the Bonaventure Island, a paradise for birds and more particularly the gannets.

Composition is well built with the house balancing the rock, maybe a crop on the left would help, to get rid of the second rock.

Bonsoir Didier,
J'aime beaucoup cette prise de vue dans le brouillard. Le blanc des petites constructions de l'île éclairent la photo juste comme il se doit. On sent bien la grandeur de la nature. Il me semble qu'il y a une petite baisse de l'horizon sur la droite, mais qui n'enlève rien à cette belle photo.

Wonderful atmospheric shot, with the white house becoming the well placed and very sharp focal point, nicely opposed to the rocks. The slope of the land makes a nice diagonal.

Bonjour Didier,

although the weather was not that good you have captured an interesing lighting. The little house at the the edge works well as the first focal point. It's a pity that the horizon line is a bit tilted. Very good definition and clarity overall. Well done!

Seems youve walked uphill to get the elevation from the cosy bed in that house...

Bonjour didier,

Je vois que tu as fait ton voyage au Quebec pendant mon absence, il va falloir que je regarde les precedentes.
Cet endroit est assez celebre sur TE et je comprends bien pourquoi: le decors est grandiose et la maison donne du contraste, de la profondeur a l image tout en induisant un sentiment de solitude et d eloignement.
Le temps etait gris mais tu as trouvé un reglage qui va bien a cette ambiance.
Pour le detail, la photo penche legerement sur la droite. Tu devrais pouvoir le corriger sans etre trop gener par le recadrage induit.

I like the diagonal line on the picture, a line between light and darker, pleasant for look at.
This is just an amazing panoramic wide view with such a stunning perspective.
The colors and the light are at their best and you knew how to work with the elements.

Le temps brumeux n'est visiblement pas un handicap pour toi. Ton cadrage est excellente, et cette "copie" des falaises d'Etretat est excellente. Bonne et agréable réalisation.

Beautiful place, fantastic formations on the rocks in the distance and one of the most beautiful, sweet little houses I have ever seen, ideal for peaceful moments and isolation! The weather conditions were not very good, but you handled the situation very well! The only "problem" that I see, is the "tilted" horizon.

Une petit côté Sept îles en Bretagne ce site magnifique du Québec. Des conditions climatiques difficiles mais un contraste entre le premier plan et la mer que j'aime bien donnant du relief à ce paysage côtier. Merci Didier.

Hello Didier,

Most images show the rock in pleasant sunny weather, it is nice to see the place on a rainy day too!
The little white house is a fine element in the composition, and creates a fine imaginary diagonal with the cliff...
All together a fine diagonal composition in muted light!

A very good and evocative composition showing a charming coast.

Un beau point de vue avec une composition bien vue avec cette maison aux murs blancs qui éclaire la photo, le temps n'était pas idéal mais l'ensemble est photogénique ... ça tilt pas un peu en voyant la côte en arrière plan.
