Photographer’s Note
The same locomotive as on my previous upload. The train is on the bridge over Hervannan Valtaväylä on the way towards Orivesi.
Class Tk3 locomotive number 1136 of Haapamäen Museoveturiyhdistys (Haapamäki Museum Locomotive Society) was built by Tampella in 1947. Steam engine class Tk3 nicknamed 'Pikku-Jumbo' (Little Jumbo) was the most numerous engine type of VR (Finnish State Railways). 161 of them were built between 1927 and 1953. It's a light, log burning engine mainly designed for freight trains. The type remained in active service until end of steam engine era in mid-70's.

Interesting miniseries on the steam train, Kari. After the great detail shots, it's great to see the train in full action here. Weather wasn't the best, but the shot turned out nice anyway. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Kari.
Another great train shot, making me think I'd better have a look at the previous upload. There's a sense of movement here, and it's great to see such an old locomotive and passenger car travelling across the bridge. Your exposure was just right to capture the movement so sharply. Well done.

Andrew

Hi Kari,
I love this one, a classic POV of the locomotive with the thick white steam coming out and flowing to the the as the train heading foward. I can almost here the "Chuchue" and the turning of the wheel. Beautiful shot, good compsition, nice soft light with the essence of the autumn colors. Thanks

Hi Kari,
The train looks great crossing the bridge, the plume of smoke trailing from the stack is wonderful.
Too bad about the cloudy day, a bit of front light would have made the Little Jumbo really sparkle.
Good POV and composition, you did well to get the train framed so well, I guess it was traveling at some speed. Panning and framing at the same time is never easy, you've accomplished it perfectly.
Very nice shot.

Peter

Hi Kari.
We had a steam weekend some time ago and I became a trainspotter for the weekend ;-). The local town has a stream engine society and they have 3 or 4 engines and some came in from out of town.
Nice capture. Excellent detail, not easy with a black engine against a light BG. Well composed also. Thanks for sharing.
Have a good Sunday, Paul.

Kari,
This is a great shot of this fine old locomotive. Your POV is great showing the train from below as it passed on the overpass. The lighting and colors are fine and the photo has nice sharpness.

Hello Kari
These old steam trains are wonderful to see coming to life in our modern world, do these trains run as tourist attractions? In Australia we have quite a few old loco's still running as tourist trains that do weekend tours. You have captured this nicely shame about the power lines. TFS
Cheers
Peter
