Photographer’s Note
The famous view of the Matterhorn from Zermatt. This is the view that is sketched on the triangular boxes of Toblerone chocolate. Fortunately the clouds lifted early in the morning, and I was able to get a viewpoint overlooking the town. After a short while the sun illuminated the church steeple, which had been in the shadow of a cloud.
I lightened up the lower half of the photo in Photoshop, using the colour gradient tool, because I had to underexpose the photo to ensure the snow did not get burned out.

Holy crap, what a shot...:))
It's like looking out an open window at that unbelievable view. PERFECT light and contrast, MAD good sharpness and detail, brilliant color and clarity. Perfect saturation and exposure.... Jeeze. And I am just flat awed by those wispy gray clouds around the mountain top. I have heard others say it, but man, I wish that were MY shot. LOL... Many thanks and kind regards,
Shelly

Hi Vincent,
What a splendid view point you had and it must be amazing to actually be there in person. I love those wisps of clouds around the peak and the snow on the back mountain whilst it's green on the one in the foreground. Simply lovely with the church and the village at the foot.

Hello Vincent,
This is a perfect shot, with a great composition. The church on the foreground seems so little with the Matterhorn/Cervin in the background.
Congratulations !

Hello Vincent,
Eternal Matterhorn...
A wonderful view it remains, and the light technically well handled to obtain such outstanding clarity and detail both on the ice capped mountain and i nthe valley.

Vincent,
This is an amazing scene that is well presented here. Your composition is great including the town in the foreground with the Matterhorn towering above. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness. Great contrasts shown here with the green foreground and the deep blue sky framing the mountain.

Hi Vincent,
It is indeed a perfect angle. Fantastic contrast between the village in shadow and snow covered Matterhorn on sunshine. Lower slopes are fresh and green while the mountain itself has bright new snow cover. A moment to remember.

Hi Vincent,
awesome photograph, high contrast between white mountain and dark-green foreground creates deep feeling; colors, shadows and light are superb.
