Photographer’s Note
This is a picture of the city of Zele's fall "Kermis" or carnival - a general celebration when a variety of carnival rides assemble themselves around the base of the city's church, much to the joy of the local children.
This is a carousel type ride with a twist. Once the children are happily going around the operator of the ride starts swinging a suspended ball out over the children. At the bottom of the ball is a tassel. The child who grabs the tassel, gets a free ride. After watching his older sister get the tassel, as well as a few other children, this boy finally managed to grab the tassel by himself. Success! I'm putting a picture taken shortly before this in the workshop so you can see the ball and the tassel.
