Photographer’s Note

The footpath across the Cares River Gorge hiking route is the most spectacular and best known of the Principality of Asturias.
It runs between the towns of Poncebos and Cain (Leon), being traditionally the only communication between the two peoples during the winters of heavy snowfall.

This is a route of 12 kilometers on foot to recreating the spectacle of the landscape. It does not take an experienced mountaineer to achieve it.

The path was excavated in the rock to artificially channeling Cares and hydroelectric power in Central Camarmeña-Poncebos.

In the area called The Collaos, you can see this natural sculpture that nature provides us.
