Photographer’s Note

This is a view of the inner courtyard of the small moated castle Neuenhof situated in a calm valley not far away south of Lüdenscheid, a town in southern Westphalia (please see map view right hand).

It first was mentioned in a deed of the year 1326 and it is proven by archaeological finds that a well fortified medieval castle existed here before the toady's building. The today's main building in its core was built in 1643 and in the course of the centuries several additions have been attached.
The castle is the ancestral seat of the family "von Neuhoff" and in 1820 by heritage it devolved on the noble family"von Bussche-Ippenburg". After the Second World War the castle was confiscated the Belgian military headquarters and not before 1974 the owner family could move again into the castle.

The today's owner, baron Alhard von dem Bussche-Kessell and interesting things about the today's use of the castle you can see HERE (in German).

In workshop you can see a wider view.
