Photographer’s Note

Hi Folks,

A bit of architecture today. This picture was taken in Poland during my last holidays.

The place is called Olszanica, it’s a small village in southern Poland where the small castle was built years ago. With the time the castle has been transformed to a holiday manor, open to tourists. It actually has some very good reviews, so I would say it’s worth visiting. The architecture is as you can see with original foss around it and the pond on the side.

According to some sources current design of the manor has been created in early XX century, however the initial castle dates back to XVI century. According to some sources the first owner of the land were the Kmita family from around XV century. After that there were at least 3 other families who owned the land during the centuries. In 1905 the Jordan family re-designed the castle to its current shape.

There are many legends attached to this place. Like in every castle it’s believed to have its own Lady Ghost walking in the gardens every midnight in blue dress holding a bunch of roses in her hands. Well – whether its true or not – the place is worth visiting even to grab a quick lunch and walk around the area.

I hope you like Folks!
