Photographer’s Note

Working in another country in Europe. Working on the roads around London. Heavy hard long hour work. Watched over day in and day out by the passers by. It must take a lot of courage to venture abroad to work and be under such close scrutiny.

Yes, You are right, Casper. It takes a lot of courage to venture abroad to work ...
But many people don't underestimate it, what more ..., don't support it, scoff it etc.,
This world is much different then, let's say, 15-20 years ago.
The expatriation ... I think we'll have to accept it, eventually. There is no other way for World.

There are very few such photographs on TE, apparently,
so thank you for your courage of showing such photograph on TE :-)
In my view, this photo won't give too many green points :-), because there is different, not fitting to TE ???

Anyway, this is a great work, Casper

Casper..hey...seems youve shot this through the grill of some kind..has given a element of added visual..but it is helping the cause or contributing to the main subject..maybe a straightforward approach could work better..

like it anyway..the..if or when he would use the machine..his body would remain still but his hands would jerk enough to give a good effect out of a 1 second shutter..maybe a f11-14

Hello Casper,
I like this because of your empathy with your subject.You have turned your camera on a daily life scene that we take for granted, rarely stopping to consider who these men are that are working so hard. I like your use of the word courage.That is how I feel too about people who leave their countries in order to try and make a decent living for their families. For those children that come over here with their parents, their courage is needed to cope. A new language to learn, to school to attend and being away from supporting extended family members such as grandparents.It must be tough.
