Photographer’s Note
Another picture of the attractive harbour in the pretty little fishing village of Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife.
I've mentioned before that you can read more about this place on the wonderful "Undiscovered Scotland" website at www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk, but you can read further in a good Wikipedia article here.
As usual, shot in RAW using a polarising filter and converted and edited in PSE6.

I do like the picture, with all the details and bright colours and lovely place.
Though I think the horizon is not quite straight, the place is beautiful and the sunlight makes it even more bright.

Hi John,
Popular view in small harbours in Scotland. But... You caught something more... shiny blue rope and yellow ball.

Hello John,
Another fine shot from one of your favourite stamping grounds.
Composition:
In the foreground, there is a good triangle at the bottom right, with the colourful rope and the pile of pots. The stack of pots to the left forms another strong triangle. That yellow buoy sits on the lower left powerpoint, and forms a good anchor for the rest of the image.
The red fishing boats in the middle ground, just above the lower right powerpoint, balance the buoy .
There is a diagonal along the edge of the nearer quay, and another at a complementary angle, along the line between the rooftops and the sky.
Now, I've noticed on some wide angle shots [mine included], that although the buildings at one side, in this case the right, seem to be vertical, there is a falling off towards the other side. Sometimes it makes the water level seem to go downhill on one side of the picture. I think that this has happened to a small degree here.
So, in my WS, I've tweaked the image a bit to see if I can do anything about this.
Kind regards,
Peter.

Hi John
Nice and luminous harbor scene, the framing between the fishing nets is a good idea to have several plans and give depth to the picture
have a nice day JY

Hello John,
Very nice photo with perfect sharpness and many nice colors very attractive.
The only defect that I see is it's tilting a little to the left.
Have a good WE.

Hi John,
A beautiful day, this Norwegian National Day (we have close contacts in Norway...)! The sunshine brings out a lot of colours and of course your composition is quite interesting, I have studied your notes with Peter carefully;-)) The sharpness is excellent and there are a lot of details, maybe too many details. Maybe I should have (after a slight rotation) have cropped it closer to the interesting details, and still got that yellow ball at the powerpoint and the red boat resting on the third. But still a very attractive daily life scenery!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hi John.
Great shot from a few months back.
This must be why colour was invented. The incredible combination of the reds and the blues, especially the rope, is just so appealing. And the splash of yellow in there as well. The piles of baskets or whatever they are make a superb framing device for the boats across the water. Sharpness and contrast etc are superb. Excellent photo, yet another of this delightful harbour.
Regards,
Andrew
