Photographer’s Note
5 minutes from my house... I used 2 ND8 filters to get an extra long exposure.

Hi Christian, I like the soft reflection of the sky and clouds with their warm colours in the lake,an image with great depth, which your presentation enhances further. You lived in a privileged location. Thanks Tom.

Wonderful light and reflections Christian. As usual, the result is really moody and engrossing.
Best,
Philippe

Hello Christian, my first view of your pictures. An extremely moody shot of the dying sun on Woerthersee. I was there maybe 50 or more years ago. I like the effect of the ND filters. I use them infrequently since I am wedded to polarizers. This looks like a very thoughtful picture that required some prior planning. Not a snapshot for sure. I haven't been on Trek Earth for almost a year, but will look forward to seeing more of your shots. Cheers Roger

Hi Christian,
my problem is always to have too little light (or the lens not fast enough), so I am a little envy of your using a double ND filter! Nevertheless, according to me, an 8 sec exposure is perfect for the lake surface, but it is too much for the sky, with that blurred effect on the clouds. In this case, given the perfect separation between the upper and the lower part of your composition, a double exposure to freeze the clouds and to make the water silken would have been perfect.
Your gallery is getting more and more stunnig, congratulations, Dario.
PS Just for an example, in Trepponti I wanted to freeze the clouds but at the same time to get dark details, so I've used a double exposure 4 stops apart.

Hey Chris,
I am so jealous! You get to see this spectacle of nature almost everyday- this photo should used as the cover of an inspirational book :)
Best,
Maryori
