Photographer’s Note

- Lake of Settons - Dam - Is built entirely from blocks of granite, is an imposing building which measures 267 meters by 20 high and 20 to its base, built on the principle of "dams of force" as a pyramid, it stands as the weight he carries on himself. It is the largest built at that time in Western Europe. The keeper's house, that appears at the bottom has been constructed along the dam, it was used to house the engineers: an historic monument in 1944. At the center of the dam throne room machinery is used to operate the valves that allow the bottom water flow. The granite cross, placed at his baptism in 1858, means the exact center of the building.

Salut Giorgio,

Bravo pour ce POV très bien choisi qui ouvre une belle perspective avec le parapet du pont qui guide le regard. Excellente nettée et très bonne profondeur. J'aime aussi beaucoup les élements verticaux qui rythment et dynamisent cette perspective.

Un angle bien choisi pour conduire le regard jusqu'au fond vers cette maison que je croyais être un château avant de lire la note. Beaucoup de netteté et de profondeur d'image.

Excellent capture, perfectly composed for depth and perspective. Excellent handling of light and colours also. The cross adds a good focal point too. Nice work and thanks for sharing.

I think it is the first time I see a blessed dam!
Seems like it works too since it still stands after all those years...
Good spring light and a fine sky, I notice the branches still are naked..!

Salut Giorgio,
Elle est bien vieille, ce barrage. Bien que les romans construisaient des barrages, il n'est pas fréquent de voir des barrages avec 150 années. Tu a choisi très bien le POV et la lumière et couleurs sont superbes. Je ne vois qu'un petit defaut: une legère inclination à droite, qui est peut-être surlevé par par la convergence des verticales qui sont causés par le POV basse.

nice the perspective and the POV of the upper part of the dam leading the eye to the keeper's house.Informative your note,as the existence of the stone cross in the middle of the passage that works as a focal point in the whole scene.

nice scenery. The way over dam is fine and lead our vision through the scene to the background hill and cottage. Great depth and natural colours. Inclusion of the trees in left added a lot to it. Very well done.
