Photographer’s Note
See the cat? The pigeons did and apart from leaving a respectable distance between themselves and the feline, they seemed mostly unconcerned. I remember being pleased to come across this little truce, especially since there was also a lion in the picture. Winter light and dark clothing made the place more beautiful- if that is possible with Venice. Again I must stress that there were few if any tourists in whichever direction I pointed the camera. These gentle folk strolling are Venetians.

Hello Klaudio,
31 year ago, a lot members on TE are not so old, a pity we are to old!!!
I am no great fan of black and white but for these picture with these ages I make an exception.
The cat shall wait on a dove when he come to close.
Absolutely fantastic, nice composition.
Very well done, TFS.
Warmest regards,
John

Hello Klaudio,
The beauty and the observations of ordinary Italians' ordinary life make these pictures from 1978 among tthe most pleasurable I have seen on TE. Undramatic events, just people passing by, but with a strong nostalgic atmosphere from the days before mass tourism.

Gert

Ciao Caro Klaudio, hehehe, nice title and great composition, that cat must've thought all his Christmases had come at once. You and Santo must be in a B&W mood, and I'm really enjoying this series. Thanks for giving us a very different look at this amazing city. Un caro abbraccio, Lisa.

You must have been early to catch the place without all the tourists.
I like the atmosphere at that time and well chosen for the B&W.

Hi Klaudio,
This B/W series from 1978 is wonderful.
Again a lovely "snapshot" of Italian life from thirty years ago.
My only visit to Venice was in 1976, your capture reminds me of the wonderful two weeks we spent there.
Great title, very funny.

Another nice shot from your collection. The FG appears nice and strong against a more muted BG that appears to be a little foggy.
Nicely done.

Zdravo Klaudio

Bianco & nero perfetto come sempre.

Kako si
What a happy cat would it be. The distant silhouettes look elegant and grand in deep in the fog.
Thanks for sharing

In my opinion, it was a good season to visit Venice, not so crowded and we are lucky again to see the city with its own inhabitants, pigeons, Venetians and the little cute lion..I wonder if it is a tripod in the middle of the square which belongs to a professional photographer or not. A very nice B&W image, TFS.
Have a nice weekend Klaudio, selamlar.

Hello Klaudio
You must have been really into B&W back in the early days, these are a beautiful and interesting series of photo's. Well scanned and appropriate title, the cat must be too well feed as you would be with that much food about.
Cheers
Peter

Hi Klaudio,
this image seems so familiar. Whenever I watch some movies the square is so dramatic with coloumns and pillars, added with the pigeons.
I like the soft hues and also the background that give the foreground a good view.
Well taken and the designs are intricate and detailed shot.
Regards,
Foozi
