Photographer’s Note
This is a view of the church of St.Coloman, a church located beautifully in an impressive landscape! To get there it´s only a 30min drive from my house, so as you can imagine when looking for a good motive for some shots, this is the first thing that came to my mind ;-)
In the background you can see the world famous Schloss Neuschwanstein. Actually I wanted to take this shot a long time ago, but the conditions were never satisfying. But I´m really happy with the way this one turned out, I hope you think so, too ;-)
So for a closer view of the church itself, and maybe also for some extra information, I highly recommend these two shots:
St.Coloman #1
St.Coloman #2
So I hope you like it and thanks for viewing!

Oh, Mark,
that is stunning. Flawless composition, beautiful clear color and sharp, precise detail, WONDERFUL light. I love the angle at which it comes in and lights the church and catches parts of the mountain. The church makes such a marvelous contrast to those wild, rugged mountains. Absolutely fabulous! Many thanks and warmest wishes,

Hi Mark,
aus dieser Perspektive mit Schnee und dem Abendlicht ein super Foto. Highlight ist sicher Neuschwanstein im HG. Super POV und Belichtung. Danke

HI MARK,
I LIKE VERY MUCH YOUR PICTURE. THE COLORS, CONTRAST AND SHARPNESS ARE PERFECT.
THE MOUNTAINS FULL OF SNOW ARE VERY ATTRACTIVE.
I APRECIATE ALSO THE VIEW OF Schloss Neuschwanstein IN THE BACKGROUND.

Hello Mark,
The composition is perfect and the place so beautiful. I like the way you placed the church and the castle in the foreground.
There is a strange white halo above the ridge of the mountain : maybe too much post-production with a software ?

Hello Mark,
Beautiful soft low light on the church, so well presented in the mountain landscape; and the Neuschwanstein watching the scene. A pleasure to look at.

Hi Mark,
A great Alpine landscape, Bavaria I believe.
Beautiful clarity and light, this church is beautiful with this very specific architecture of the region.
A very beautiful composition.
Good evening.

hello Mark,
postcard-perfect shot, the pale pink light on the white walls of the church make it look very delicate, almost fragile, especially against the rugged mountains in the background. I seem to detect a slight halo around the edges of the mountains, but may be my eyes ar fooling me :) great shot, my compliments.
best,
Kristine

This is a cracker Mark
Beautiful light, the church is gorgeous, maybe them trees hinder the view, but then there is another one tucked away in the mountain. You have a person for scale also.
Excellent colours, detail, them mountains dwarf the church superbly.

Hi Mark
The soft light gives to the scene such a majesty that it really looks like a moment of grace. I love the golden tones on the mountain and the tender green of the grace, huh, grass. What I find touching and surprising, is the second church very discrete on the hill, almost mimetic with the snowy mountain, and that curiously, from far, ressembles to a mosque. You might not like the idea, but in my imagination, it makes like a short-circuit in space that gathers the East and the West.

Très belle composition avec cette superbe église, Neuschwanstein et ce beau décor montagneux en arrière plan. Un endroit que j'aime beaucoup....mais où je n'ai jamais eu la chance d'avoir une belle lumière comme sur ta belle photo.

Hi Mark,
Off the three photo that I seen of this place, from your mom and Didier, I think I like your best, but don't tell them, please.
You really mange the light really well, lvoe the warm afternoon light that illiminated the side of the mountain giving it golden speck of light agains the cold snow and rugged terrain. the brick red of the roof warm up the center of the image so very nicely. Compostion is perfect, all is in the right place and the layer of mountain really give you a good sense of it distance with the one on the back slight softer and lighter in colors. There is a slight hallo around the mountain perhaps its the mist being pick up by the wind or the light cloud coming over the other side of the mountain. Anyway, Really great work here. Thanks Mark.

Sers Mark,

Helmut

Hey Mark ;-)
I have an image in my mind about a picture from this church against the mountains and your version comes very close to what i have in mind. Snow on the peaks, great light on the church, deep greens (i need in fact snow on it) and that other beauty far away for mking the whole scenery complete. One thing i need to bring...a chainsaw to cut down those trees ;-)
Just like Kristine i see some halo effect around the mountains, but is not really disturbing, it's all about that church that looks very good.
Good you go out with your mkII, you did not bought that thing to keep it in your bag whole winter in that great surrounding ;-)
So now and then i'm peaking in here (only look at some peoples pictures, no forum), and seeing you're back, something i will not do, but it's good to see some work from your hand.
Take care my German friend,
Henk

Hi Mark,
Very romantic setting, with Neuschwanstein on just a side role this time. Excellent low light. Contrast between bright green grass and early autumn snowfall on mountains looks great.
