Incredible lights Photo

Photographer’s Note

Each year, the "Jacques Brel festival" takes place in Vesoul, during a week where artists come to produce and this year was with : Arno, Guy Marchand, Brigitte Fontaine, Nilda Fernandez,Lisa Portelli, Abd Al Malik ... I forgot some, sure!
In the opening of the festival, play a french song contest for young artists not yet known.
On this view, a musician from the group called "des fourmis dans les mains".

C'est de la photo d'artiste, faite par un autre artiste. La lumière au trajet matérialisé par la fumée est superbe. Les contrastes forts sont excellents. Une très belle image en clair obscur. félicitations.

Très belle réalisation. Vous avez su donner à cette composition un effet de toute beauté avec ce jeu de lumière et de couleur.
Les rais de lumière troublés par des volutes de "fumée" sont vraiment un plus.

That IS a beautiful shot. To get such splendid light on the musician with such light coming from above and behind is just amazing. I love the tones, you have excellent detail and the smoke in the lighting adds a nice moodiness to the shot. This is wonderful. Many thanks and kindest wishes,

Yes Cyrille,
This is an intriguing photograph, very difficult to obtain with a digital camera, let's say, 7 years old.
Why ? Because there wasn't such value of ISO. Now it's much easier but still it's not so easy :-)
Hmm, too high value of ISO not only icreases the whirr (noise :-)) of camera, but what is worse, "flatten the photograph.
But in this case I can't see it. The photo is without whirr and rather not flat.
And apparently, it's a good work ... :-)

Cyrille, bon soir.
Well, what can I say, this is a super picture. As much as I like the man playing the cello I think that almost the best part is the light and smoke. It make for a very dramatic scene.
It would be nice to see any other pictures you took at the event.

Hi Cyrille, People on stage, under light conditions the are extreme are always very difficult to photograph successfully, here you have done a marvelous job, good clear & colourful image although the spotlights are on the artist I think here the light rays themselves are the main element, well supported by the musician. Excellent quality.

Hello Cyrille, Like the minimalistic composition showing just the important parts of the picture. The diagonal rays excellently complemented by the musician and the drums, which are presented only symbolically and leaving all the attention at the musician. Well done. TFS, Kind regards, Michael
