Photographer’s Note
Bairro Alto.
Lunch hour.
In Lisboa, people lives a lot in the streets.
In Lisboa, street is life.
I felt a kind of fascination by seeing this style of beeing of lisbonian people.
About your critiques : yes, I know : there are broken rules, and many of you won't like the comosition (overlaped bodies), the light (people in the shadow side of the street) or PP presentation (darkness)
But I feel here something of especial.
You can like it only if you feel the same :)
So, it won't be a successful one, it's sure.
See also WS, please.

I like exactly the overlapped bodies, Grazyna :)! that's the street, you know :). And I like much the dynamism, the energy, the 'complicity' / interaction that this scene exudes. That man turned toward us, uhh, makes the shot for me! and he's very well balanced by the eye-contact we have with the lady on the right hand side.
There is life in the street, Grazyna, and there is life in your photo, too!. I can feel it :)

I prefer the main post, too. Though I generally like high key, I feel like the treatment you gave in the WS makes it a bit static, takes away the life / dynamism from the original version; and there is a feel of 'split', too (the white zone that separates the group on the left hand side) - feels like there are two parts not communicating anymore.
best wishes.

Bonjour Grazyna
Amicalement.
Pierre.

Hello Grazyna.
it'a nice to see some familiar things to me thru your eyes, specially Bairro Alto which has a kind of a mystic around it.
Yes, overlapped faces and bodies are normally associted with a kind of a failure but here it works well IMO as this guy turning to you right at the moment you shot the photo gives a very good dynamic impression to it.
Even more, it gives you that eye contact so essential on sreet photos, you were not unknown or hidden behind a tree or car, no, you were there and they saw you taking it.
I also like this blurried background but with the essence of it clearly showing action behind it, also this slight grain fits so well in this photo.
Some might call it a snapshot I call a street shot with its imperfections but this is street shooting we doesn't set the mood or action, it presents in front of us, and it's up to us to record it for eternity.
Cheers.

Hahaha! ::)
I like to imagine the making of this photo. How did you make them all look at you like that? It is evident that you enjoyed every moment of it, and this makes me enjoy it too.
Rules rules rules... Please don't tell me that you care them or what people would think about how you use them...

Hi Grazyna,
It's a nice and faithful portrait of Lisboa city life.
I don't care about rules (often I don't know about them).
Greetings,
F.

I love in your pictures the fact that they bring you into a scene, and the flaws in composition only add to reality and the feel of a moment frozen in time.
