A rainbow in Hell's Throat Photo

Photographer’s Note

The famous Iguazú Falls needs no presentation. Known simply as the Cataratas, the world's biggest, most awe-inspiring set of waterfalls is set among dense jungle, home to brightly coloured birds and butterflies.

Left side is Brazil.
Right side is Argentina.
In the distance is the famous Hell's Throat (Garganta del Diablo).
This point of view is the closest one can get to Hell's Throat in the Brazilian side.

The dark dot seen in the distance a bit up and right from the center is a flying bird.

Hi Ric, Wonderful photo of Iguacu waterfall. Beautiful double rainbow. Interesting POV - there is waterfall also near you on the left side. Superb colours too.
I haven't seen yet any really big waterfall. So I am excited as I found the excursions to the Victoria Falls that I could afford. I would like to go to Africa in February (and in a bit more than two weeks I go to India).

An amazingly sharp rainbow. I have seen scores of photographs of the Iguazu falls, this one is really outstanding.

This is a great shot of this impressive waterfall. The rainbow is great and adds a nice touch to the shot. The lighting and colors are fine and the photo has good sharpness.

I think that the noise of all these impressive water falls must be deafening !!! The must in this photograph it is this beautiful rainbow in the foreground… I also understand why the vegetation is also green, watering is permanent there… Very beautiful and luminous photograph, thank you Ricardo.

não sabia que havia estado por essas bandas. Essa é uma vista clássica. Muito boas cores e brilho como um todo. O arco-íris é uma inevitável beleza desse ângulo. Eu tinha uma foto tirada de uma Canon analógica em filme positivo, mas perdi o conteúdo, uma pena. Belo registro!

Wow, that's a beauty, the waterfall and the rainbow in one go. if the hell looks like that, I do not mind to visit. It's a beautiful place. I like it a lot. The colors are so vibrant and water is rushing down, you really feel it. Excellent framing and well written note, there reminds only one thing to write - excellent job.

what a wonderful place, the name is perfect is like a duality. I think be there is amazing, feel the power of the nature, feel the water and heard the trength I think is undescriptible.
Talking about this kind of places my next trip will start this tuesday I will be in Chihuahu and Im planing visit the cooper Canyon, I hope I can take a ggod picture. I did not take any in Cancun I was very busy there I hope I ca have opportunity this time.

You mean to say you did not go to the Argentinian platform as well? This place is a dream destination of mine and I for once want to hear the thunderous roar of the water as they fall. How do you save your lens from the spray? Did they not shoot Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull here? (I'm not too sure about that)..of course the rainbow in the FG is a definite plus. Look fwd for more from this place my friend!

muito bonita mesmo essa foto das Cataratas do Iguaçú, um local que não conheço ainda. Gostei das cores e do arco-íris, mas acheio foco ruim, parece que foi enganado pela queda d´água no canto inferior esquerdo. Um f/stop mais alto melhoraria isso, ou mesmo usar o ponto central de foco automático, só uso ele, não gosto da máquina escolhendo por mim, mas é suposição minha isso.

Tab...ak! Que beleza! Uma das fotos mais bonitas que eu já vi da Foz do Iguaçu. Vai para o meu tema de arco-íris, claro!
Que nitidez estupenda, no meio desses aerossóis todos aí!
O pássaro em voo é um detalhe para o qual fizeste bem em chamar a atenção! Mais que merecido!
Cá pra nós, gostei do POV, porque estavas do lado brasileiro! Brincadeirinha... só para não deixar passar uma rixazinha entre vizinhos ;-) Há quem diga que o lado argentino é mais bonito e, se for assim mesmo, o POV do lado brasileiro é estratégico para ter melhores imagens. Não sei, porque nunca fui lá (ainda irei, um dia).
O WS também está sensacional e eu estou aqui a me lastimar por não teres colocado como uma outra principal :-(

Depois de ter estado em Victoria Falls esta é outra queda de água que eu gostaria de visitar. Talvez um dia isso possa acontecer.
Quanto à foto, está muito interessante apesar de teres puxado demasiado no pp e teres criado uma auréola artificial entre a queda e o céu.

Oooow Ricardo. I don't know how I missed this one. Really fascinating. One can feel the enormous power of water by loıoking this photo. I can see several rainbows in your composition, accompanying the major one in the front. It is believed that, there is always a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Did you see any ? :)
