Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken at Burnaby Lake Regional Park in Burnaby which is near Vancouver, Canada. It was a beautiful evening, so I headed out there for some sunset photos.
Info about the photo: This place is about 5 minutes driving from my home. In the evening I noticed that the clouds looked favourable, so we decided to go for a walk and enjoy the sunset at Burnaby Lake. After the sun had set the sky looked amazing and the lake was so calm, so it left a perfect reflection.
~Camera Settings (of one the original shots):

Some information on Burnaby Lake Regional Park: Burnaby Lake Regional park is located in the city of Burnaby which is a part of the Greater Vancouver area and about 5 minutes driving from my place. This park includes a beautiful lake, a lot of hiking trails and is a great spot for bird watchers. Burnaby Lake Regional park is one of the best spots in the Vancouver area for bird watching, you may find great blue herons, bald eagles, belted kingfishers, osprey and the rare green heron and much more. In the summer time you can rent a canoe to have a closer look at the ducks, beavers and marsh-dwelling turtles.
There are 4 places where you park your car and start your walk. You can circle the lake for example which is about 19km (12mi). On the way you'll find the Wildlife Rescue Association or BC with a beautiful garden that's home to many wild birds. On the North side of the lake is the Nature House which is open in the summer for displays, talks and interpretive nature classes. The fresh air, outdoor exercise, city views, and plenty of wildlife of the two and four-legged variety make this a great spot to enjoy.
Burnaby Lake was created by a glacier 12,000 years ago and its shores were home to sawmills in the late 1800's. Now it is a beautiful protected area for us to enjoy. (Info from the Burnaby City Parks website).

hi Ann,
impossible to tell which way is up and which way is down, the surface of the lake must've been perfectly still. love the dramatic sky, both cold and fiery at the same time, and the cloud formations add a great sense of depth, almost 3D feeling.
best,
Kristine

Hi Ann,
stunning colours at this sunset mirror, but the POV is perfectly balanced. The reflection is maybe a little bit to dark, but it doesn't disturb the scene. Great job, TFS

Hi Ann,
Welcome back, We missed you, you have been MIA for awhile. Hope all is well. You are coming back with a punch here, This image really knock me in the face, almost. Anyway. Really intense colors and what a beautiful reflection. The water so calm like a mirror. and the dark clouds spreading in the water like dark blue ink. You know, you get a big clear glass jar of water, and you drop some blue ink in there and watch it spread, it looke kind of like that to me. Really wonderful.

Bonjour Ann,
des couleurs magnifiques et fortes, elles se marient toutes bien, mais attention, le post processing se voit assez fort et gêne un peu au bineau de la séparation entre arbres et ciel.
Una atmosphère paisible très séduisante.
Bien amicalement.
Daniel.

Hallo Ann!
This sunset hardly is to surpass! What a splendour and what an atmosphere - nearly a solemn one. The effect of mirroring here is breathtaking. A truly worth-showing and worth-seeing photo! Great!

Hi Ann,
The mirror effect on the water of Burnaby lake is an asset to the composition. The point of view leads our eyes toward the trees in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The sunset is giving nice colors to the sky, the lake and a set of shadows to the trees. have a nice day.

Dag Ann,
Prachtige donkere dramatische kleuren, het maakt van dit landschap bijna een abstract schilderij.
