Photographer’s Note
I had a lovely evening surf session down at Grange Chine which is on the west side of the Isle of Wight.
I took my camera with me just incase the sunset turned out to be good, and the sunset was waaaay better than good!
My friend had just got out of the water and was stood looking at the waves, thinking about how great the surf was, so i made the most of the moment, and composed a shot with him in it, which is something i never usually do.
I used an ND8 Graduated filter

Hi Jamie,
I like the POV. Wonder how you did it without water touching your lens?!?
The way the brown clouds drift into the frame and the colours to the left is superb.
Good work. Congrats!

I've read the other day, in a book about landscape photography , that the perfect picture should start from warm colours in a foreground and move into cold ones in a background. On your picture it's exactly opposite and the effect is just amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Jamie,
these are the amzing colours at the south England sunsets. You did a great job here with the exposure and the POV. Eyecatcher is the wave in the FG. Well done, TFS

Hello Jamie,
I like your pov and the way the wat is captured with the help of a long exposure.Nice compo using the rule of thirds and that sunset is to die for. Your friend looks like a surfer version of The Angel of the North (or maybe the angel started to rampage like Ted Hughes's Iron Man found his way a to the Isle of Wight).

Hello Jamie,
One of your older shots was in the intro and it made me realise that I hadn't seen your work for quite a while. I wondered if you had ceased posting ... so, this was a treat!
Your friend makes a good focal point against the sunlit, mackeral sky, nicely placed in the frame and resembling a religious symbol!
I love how you have captured the swirl of f/g water. It feels as if it is about to cascade over my computer desk! Good use of the slow shutter speed!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)
