Photographer’s Note
Another picture from the trip to Zhu Jia Jiao.
This is from one of the main canals running through the town.
Again b/W, I will upload a color version from almost same angle to show how it really looked like.

Hello Harry,
Great &atmosphere i nthsi photo with its soft grey tones. A fine scene despite the obvious distortion.

Hi Harry, a very nice perspective here with a good B&W treatment, emphasizing the textures. I agree that the water towns do provide a breathing hole from Shanghai's chaotic pressure. It's probably best to go during the week with less tourists.
Jeg går forresten ud fra at du er Dansker? Arbejder du i Shanghai?
Mvh. Henrik.

Hi Harry,
good use of B&W, good POV and clarity in the shot. the reflection in the water alomst merge with the structures, especially in the background, making the definition between the 2 harder to pick out. this is not a negative comment i like the effect.
good photo, well done, chris

Ni Hoa Harry,
Are you learning Chinese, Mandarin, yet? I see, you must be stationing in China now. Another place that is growing so fast.
Love the black and white presentation of the canal, timeless, it's like seeing the Chinese brush painting in ink. the refelction is quite fantastic with so much going on down there. I can see the bottom of the houses and clouds in the sky. There has been so many peoms and story writen about this area. I wish to visit the area again. I was here about 15 years ago maybe. still have the same essence as if time has not change it much which is great. Shieh Shieh, Harry.

Hello Harry
So different to the canals of North London or Manchester :-), the light is superb, and the black and white again fits the mood. The reflections are gorgeous in this and the POV first rate.

Good to see you again Harry. This is a wonderful B&W in your own inimitable style. The light is excellent and the reflections wonderful. Although I am a colour lover this is so much better than the colour version. Presumably you were on a bridge for this high POV which works so well in the composition.
You certainly see the world with your job.

Hi Harry,
first I thougt it is pity that you made it B&W but then when I saw the original I change my mind. It would be great in color but only with a good blue sky. But looking at the original I think you made a fantastic work emphasizing strong sides of the photo, cutting off the white sky and focusing on the reflection in the channel and surrounding architecture.
It is really impressive and has amazing atmosphere,
TFS

Hola Harry,
Como es habitual en tí un magnífico tratamiento del B&W que crea esa atmósfera tan intempral y diría que cinematográfica. Un buen trabajo.
Saludos y un abrazo,
Mirari
