Photographer’s Note

Here is located in the west of Nagano Prefecture, and is scenic sites of place of high ground on in the valley in Northern Japanese Alps. It is a depositional plain of about 1km in maximum width and about 10km before and behind Yokoo from the Taishou pond. Here is in above sea level about 1,500m. It is thought that Azusa river that flows to Gifu Prefecture is dammed up by the eruptive activity of the volcano group, the pond is caused, earth and sand piles up there, and it was born. Now, the stroll road is maintained, and the fallen leaf tree with broad leaves woods belt such as the beech, spruces and trees in a subalpine coniferous forest grow in abundance when walking 4km from the Taishou pond to the Kappa bridge and the forest relaxation can be experienced. This day is covered with a thick cloud, however I felt the nip of fall from coloring of trees though the top in the Hodaka mountain range was not able to be seen just.
