Photographer’s Note
Yesterday I showed you a canal in the beautiful little town Friedrichstadt in the very north of Germany. This town was planned and built by Dutch master builders. Please read more about it in the note to the linked photo.
In workshop you can see another street of houses in Friedrichstadt.

Nice place. Fine architecture. Detailed note. But tell me what is the main difference between German and Dutch hoses?
Regards my dear friend.

Hallo lieber Frank,
Gute Perspektive.
Danke schoen und
mfg

Hi Frank,
lovely row of façades. The image is very luminous and colorful despite the dark atmosphere caused by the clouds. Very good job.
TFS.
Have a nice weekend.

Hello Frank,
A very good perspective along these lovely houses with their stepped gables. I like the pastel tones of the paintwork and the subdued lighting. The lady crossing the road in the foreground is nicely included and brings a sense of vitality to the scene. Greetings from a mild but changeable Charente-Maritime, where they are harvesting the maize today.

Yes, Frank, these houses could be in the Niederlande (except for the German words). Very nice, and surprising.

Frank,
This is a great shot of these Dutch style buildings. When I first saw the photo I thought it was from the Netherlands, not Germany. You have captured nice details and colors in this less than ideal lighting. The girl walking across the street add a sense of scale for the shot as well as adding life to the scene.

Asa

Hello Frank,
No wonder you wanted to capture the buildings on this street; they have a delightful appearance from their mixed colours to their delightful windows and ornate facades.
I like your chosen pov which provides an interesting f/g triangle (good for composition, so I'm informed) and the strong converging lines which provide a good lead and a fine sense of perspective.
The young lady is well placed in the frame and gives human interest to the shot.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Frank,
A hard choice, really, between these two pictures. This one shows the elegant houses better, the ws has more life (although more touristy and with a couple of feet cut off...)
It looks like an incredibly neat town where noone seems to throw any rubbish in the street. Amazing.
By the way, the woman crossing the street surely was totally unaware of her importance to this composition.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Frank,
Indeed, these houses are evocative of those seen in Holland (and Belgium). The similarity in design, however, all of them step-gabled, it was the same architect, or company of architects who oversaw their design. Also the very steep roof is so characteristic of the north where there is increased snowfall.
Warm regards from Virginia, which has suddenly seen some rather cold weather, and the foliage has suddenly turned gold.
Bulent
