Beach of Czolpino Photo

Photographer’s Note

Beach of Czołpino, Baltice sea, Słowiński National Park. Słowiński National Park is mainly famous for its walking sand dunes, which make up one of the largest examples of this phenomenon in Europe. Winds ripple their surface, forming elongated waves, parabolas, mounds, hills and vales. The most active dunes move at a rate of up to 10 meters a year. The vast, shallow coastal lakes Gardno and Łebsko, bays that were cut off from the Baltic by sand bars, attract flocks of birds and bird-watchers alike. Pine forests are home to rare animals, while secluded villages cultivate old Slav traditions. Of course there is always the sea.

Hi Mikolaj,
I like this tree which is bent towards the infinite sea! as if the tree wants to sail and go away forever from this beach.
Very good composition an aninteresting scene (with all its seeming simplicity)... this photo also gives a bit of "food for thought".

Hello Mikolaj,

This shot reflects fine composition where the sloping tree, with its associated shadow, points towards the incoming sea. Here, the eyes are compelled to move in a completely different direction as the strong, converging lines of the sea, move us rapidly left.
Stark, minimalistic, effective!

lubie takie spokojne, nostalgiczne zdjecia,
zdecydowanie wole taka opuszczona czysta, cicha plaze od takiej zaludnionej (mimo ze na tej drugiej duzo dziewczyn do podgladania :) )
W takiej scenerii mozna sie naprawde zrelaksowac, tylko pod warunkiem ze nie bedzie tak jak w Dniu Swira :)

cześć fajne drzewko znalazłeś. Że też tak roścnie w piasku. Szkoda, ze nie ma kozy, bo by mogła skoczyć. Taki widoczek to rzadkość u Ciebie. Piekna dzika plaża.. jak spiewał nie pamiętam kto. U Janka tłumy, a tu pustka.

You have made a simple but stunning composition. I am just curious why the tree is bent towards the sea. I would have imagined that the winds would generally be blowing in the opposite direction.

Hi Mikolaj, Interesting place, one that is new to me. I like to hear that there are still villages in Europe that are secluded enough to maintain their traditions. The colours are fantastic here & very natural looking, the sloping tree is perfectly placed & the main point of interest, I like how it contrasts with the beautiful clear blue sky, interesting are also the lines of the sand,water & sky running across the frame. le vent doit souffler par là...
j'aime la composition de cette image avec l'arbre penché, cela change peu des classiques cocotiers de l'océan pacifique car c'est un beau cliché composé avec les même ingrédients!

I haven't come across many of your pictures of late. This is a fine minimalist composition where the bending tree is given centre stage. I like also the angle formed on the right by sand,sea and sky. Very good colours and superb sharpness. I like it very much.

Really nice shot, the rule of 3rds is obeyed and the bent tree is such a strong element. Minimalism at its best.

Simple but really good! I like this loneliness, the lonely tree almost falling on the sand is perfect. Its shadow is a good detail and the colours are great!
