Photographer’s Note

Along the Wei river near GuZhen town people live there daily lives aboard these river boats. The rain has come and people rush in to avoid it. In the distance a cast-net fishing boat returns home. The rain is not hard but is sustained for more than one hour. Life here must be tough, perhaps some have access to electical power and water. I have often wanted to explore within one of these boats, but private worlds within are not often open to foreigners. Someday as I keep learning the language and increasing my ring of friends, I may be invited.

One day you may get images from one of these river boats. Thanks for the composition and story. Seems to me this simple way of life may just suit some nicely.

provides us with a view of how millions of people around the world really live. Makes me appreciate what i have here in Canada that much more.
