Photographer’s Note
These cast-net week-end fishermen sling their nets hard gaining a wide arc in hopes of a big return. This cast yielded one small fish each, while most came up empty. Each cast takes 10-15 minutes between tosses and both had little luck this day.
This area is at the base of a small Dam near GuZhen Town. The water way is the Wei River. There are barge/boat locks at the dam and the ramp to the locks can be seen in the photo background. The downstream water spillway is below me as I am standing on the far end of the dam. Beside me are dozens of traditional fishing-pole fishermen. Some with good catches.
Not many foreign people come here and I was a point of attention and was even offered one fish. Very nice people!

Hi David,
Lively daily life photo, clear to show their team work catching fishes on the dam, good speedy shoot to capture the dropping net, distinct photo, thanks for sharing.
