‘Piran - Flea market on Tartini Square’

That day in July the morning started with a dark clouded sky. I went to Tartini Square where there was a flea market. Suddenly the sun broke through the clouds and lightened the square.

Tartini Square in Piran has a few remarkable buildings:

the town hall, a huge, monumental neo-Renaissance white building built between 1877 and 1879 by the architect Giovanni Ribetti;

the old court house with its two 17th-century doors;

the red Venetian House, a charming palace built in the 15th century and the oldest preserved house on the square, with its richly decorated exterior and a splendid Gothic balcony at the corner;

Tartini’s house where the famous Venetian composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini was born in 1692.

Bonjour Paul ,
Une belle scène très animée , avec une superbe rangée de maisons à l'arrière plan , et le contraste avec le ciel sombre . On est un peu ébloui par la réverberation . Mais c'est finalement proche de la réalité , comme si on avait oublié ses lunettes de soleil .

a very nice snapshot of the flea market on Tartini Square.I see a lot of old things to cover the place as a lot of people to interesting for them.Thee colourful houses on the background is an asset to the composition.

lovely details of so many exciting objects. The lighting is very good and it gives the power to the view. I like the details of the windows and its different colours. They look very graphical in this shot.

I like very much this markets, are always filled of joy and life, and this capture brings to us this sensation very well...

Very good light management here, with the cloudy sky and the sunny square. Detailks on objects are really good, eerything under a good point of view composing this excellent scene...very good Paul!!

I like this view of the square...typically European..surrounded by the colourful houses. A bit of a bustling activity going on...what I like most is the exhibits on sale of the flea market. Makes me remember the flea market in Antwerp which I used to frequent on Sundays. The sky seems to be overcast, yet the light seems to be quite hard. Well done!

it is really a pleasure to see this square that I know well, with the typical houses in Venetian style. The photo has pleasantly animated from this market with the people that observe the ancient objects. Who knows what music would have composed Tartini to comment this beautiful photo! :-)
