Photographer’s Note
This is a view of the Ocean Beach or Back Beach as opposed to Port Phillip Bay.
The seaside village of Sorrento, located 112 KM south of Melbourne is one of the most popular and pretty holiday escapes on the Mornington Peninsula. Sorrento is located at the southern extremity of the peninsula at the entrance to Port Phillip Bay and provides a beautiful and picturesque outlook. The village is known for its historic buildings, cafes, shopping and resident population of bottlenose dolphins.
A highlight of a day trip to Sorrento at the turn of the century was a trip to the Back beach via steam tram. It was a favourite place for picnics, promenades and a view of the magnificent ocean scenery from the cliff top Rotunda.
Taken in the company of Lisa (delpeoples), Alfred (alftrek) & Bill (trekks) on the day prior to our TE meeting in Melbourne.
Taken from what I suspect is the New Rotunda, with my new toy.

Ciao Santo. With your new toy there is no limit to creativity, by the looks of it. First your nose providing the convex in Alfred's shot, now the beach providing the concave look in your creation.the colours and light are superb and there is a nice balance to the image. Hope everything is fine at home. Klaudio.

Hello Santo,
The fisheye lens is full of pleasant surprises and I wonder what will turn up next. This one captures everything from headland to headland with wonderful light. It also prove that the earth is round judging from the curved horizon:)). I think you took this when I was in agonizing pain rushing off to the washroom below.

Alfred

Hello Santo,
Gee, this beach looks so neat, so perfectly round! A fisheye can certainly make the world look nice, and surprising. This is an amusing composition that makes me believe that even "for real", this would be a pleasant place to visit.
Kind regards,
Gert

Ciao Caro Santo, what an inventive and beautiful photo. All those washed dishes have produced a photo par excellence for us. The sky is absolutely amazing and the shot really well exposed because I know how difficult the light was then. Great POV here, the climb was certainly worth it. PS: I had so much fun that day with you and the lads, the scenery was magnificent and the company the best a gal could ask for! :)

Hi Santo,
This image has a very good effect from the fish-eye optics. The curve of the coast against the stunning sky is so well registered. Sharp details and very well metered exposure. Thanks for sharing and best regards.

Hi Santo, I can see that you're having fun with your new toy, and putting it to good use. You've done a great job on this scene with it. I particularly like the clouds moving in from the right. None of the slightly strange bokeh that was visible on your other shots with this lens - I guess because there was nothigng really close. I wonder if Sony/KM make one of these. Cheers, Steve

Hi Santo,
Nice use of your wide angle/fish eye lens. You captured almost the entire beach. I like how you included the stairs to the beach.

Hi Santo.
I’m trying to justify one of those toys for myself! This looks like the perfect use for a fish eye lens, plenty of dramatic sky and nicely shaped shoreline. Great photo and thanks for sharing.
Have a good week, Paul.

Ciao Santo,

Hello Santo,
Effective use of fisheye!
Normally fisheye effects are overdone, but you manage to use the effect to enhance what is already there...
The result is an artistic and dramatic composition, where the subject itself has high interest value!

Hello Santo.
The right day, the right weather, the right .. lens.
In this shot there is all the beach, the surrounding vegetation, a great part of sky.

Hello Santo
Very creative view of the beach and amazing looking sky. The whole scene looks very inviting even though it would have been a tad on the cold side at that time of year.
Very nice, thanks

Hi Santo
I've been in Sorrento two times, but I don't remember that it was in Australia :-)
... It was close to Napoli :-)
I think, that the name of Australian Sorrento comes from Italy :-)
Anyway, your photo invite us to visiting both Sorrentos :-)
P.S. I've eaten a delicious Sorrento Pizza lately :-)))
The best pizzas come from Napoli, apparently :-)))

Hi Santo,
Perfect composition. You als waited for the best moment to take this picture while the waves spread out on the beach. Also the most perfect POV with the wooden stairs in the fore ground and the symmetrical beach borders with the dunes on both sides. And the the end I assume you held your camera straight to avoid to much bending of the horizon. I almost wood name this little bay fisheye beach.
