Photographer’s Note

The point that the two beaches of Kokkari are met,the left one and the right one.

Kokkari

Kokkari is on the northern part of the island, ten kilometres distant from the main town. It is located in an area with an abundance of pine and olive trees and vineyards. The name of the village is derived from the large quantities of onions which its fields once produced. Nestling between two small protective headlands that capture the gaze. The most tourist - friendly and picturesque village on Samos.

The people are simple, kind and welcoming. The sea is crystal clear. Popular with surfers, because the wind is good. There you can find as well a school for wind surfing. There are several small bars and caffe on the beach at Kokkari, which operate from the morning hours, in order to lift your spirits. Wonderful taverns and fantastic clubs make Kokkari the most lively and happening place on the island.

It is probably the outstanding scenery and the good beaches for water sports which attract a large proportion of the visitors to Samos to Kokari.

Kaimera Danos,

a fascinating picture, which gives a deep impressive look at that great location, must b e one of the hot-spots in that part of the island..
like the colors and most of all, the additional pictures from WS, giving a great perspective to the main picture..

Danos,
This is a great seascape shot. The boats and children in the foreground add nice points of interest for the shot. The curving waterline leads the eye through the shot nicely creating a sense of direction. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has nice sharpness and DOF.

It's always a pleasure to see these fine corners of the Greek islands, especially when they are photographed by a skillfull hand like yours. The curve that the shoreline forms here creates a very well balanced composition dividing the sea from the sky. The colour and transparency of the water here is fantastic and those three boats make the scene more interesting.
Also the houses are positioned in the right place and add a touch of colours. A splendid work!

Hi Danos,

The curve of the beach is an asset to the cpmposition.. The presence of the children and of the persons has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing the details and colors hof the houses. It takes our eyes also toward the horizon wich is giving depth to the composition. The light is well managed, it is enhancing the colors. have a nice day.

Ahhh, this is an interesting place, seems like they are living on a small cliff in the end of a sand bar..!
The clear water is amazing, I can count the pebbles on the bottom...

Nobody on TE shows Greece to be quite as alluring as you. I would love to visit here with its turquoise lagoon and the dining places perched on the cliff for a good view of course, I can also imagine the warmth of the water. asd always, your note makes it even more attractive.
