Photographer’s Note

I've lived in the financial district in NYC for 2 years, and I seldom look up and admire the view (and risk looking like a tourist!) However, in my haste to do as many touristy things as possible before I leave this great city for a long term assignment in Hong Kong I decided to take a random Friday off from work, and go on a few tours. During this particulary tour, the Wall Street Soundwalk, I was instructed to stand on the corner of Beaver Street and South William Street, and to look up. This is the view my eyes were stunned by (minus the post processing colors)! It's like a starfish made of blue skies and white clouds has descended upon the old and new towering structures of NYC. Hope you enjoy this photo as much as I do!

I was in NY once as a kid (tourist) so I looked up a lot. I remember being overwhelmed by how looking up made me loose my balance the same way kids think its fun to get dizzy.
Cool that you saw something organic in this scene while you were standing there. I saw it too it the thumbnail and the colors pulled me in to look closer.

I like your picture for the colors, the flowing form of the sky starfish created by the POV. With a little imagination I see a gigantic eye in the sky now too. The simplicity actually obscures many details. Maybe i just need sleep but that dark building looks like it has a face. Did I get knocked out and just open my eyes. I could stare at this for a long time!

Wow, this is a great shot. Love the title, too, as this does indeed look like a starfish. Beautiful colors and crisp details on the buildings. Well done to see and capture this POV!
