This wooden masque was on a door in MArtinafranca, Puglia.
I found it wonderful, funny and frightening in the same time.
Martinafranca is full of little treasures like this one, and you have to walk in the quiet, white narrow streets to breathe the smell of the south of Italy and of the traditional cuisine of this wonderful place! You can't miss the Valle d'Itria festival, classical and jazz music and theatre...

più che una pernacchia a me sembra una linguaccia :))
Bel close-up su questo mascherone, dove l'elevato sharp ci permette di vedere bene ogni dettaglio.

I think this is a 'Green Man' - a symbol of rebirth or renaissance. He's also thought to be possibly a fertility symbol. You have shown the detail well here and the tight cropping emphasises the face well.
