Photographer’s Note
Torekov is a locality situated in Båstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 888 inhabitants in 2005. It is still a fishing village but it is today best known as an exclusive summer resort.
A legend tells us that the town is named for a girl later known as Saint Thora who was drowned by her stepmother, found on the shore of Torekov, and buried by a blind man who then regained his sight. However, the more prosaic explanation refers to two old words thora meaning height, and kove meaning cabin or hut.

Hi Gunnar!
A totally relaxed scenery and all these cabinbs somehow look really homey. I your pin sharp photo I like especially these overall natural colours and of course the composition with this quay wall. It's interesting that there isn't a single sea gull in this shot.
After "my" Bundestag election we'll have a hike in Rothaargebirge today!
Have a wonderful Sunday too! Greetings from a warm and sunny Siegen!

Hi Gunnar,
Diagonal line, OK, good for composition. Rule of thirds, maybe... This yellow patch on the blue as the main interest. Nice boathouses. Pleasant photo of simple fishermen's life. Someone walking in red would be nice.

Hello Gunnar,
A good perspective on this little fishing port making good use of the angle formed by the quayside. I like the repeating motifs of the triangular shaped roofs and the reflections of the boats. The little yellow and blue adds a nice splash of colour.

Hej Gunnar,
this is a pretty summer-like shot, very lovely view - and a bit nostalgic for me. Very beautiful rich well-balanced colours! I keep on admiring your camera quality ;)
Concerning the composition and the perspective view, I find them excellent: gradually, the eyes travel from FG to more distant objects and towards the horizon. Very pleasant view, indeed!
Kind regards,
and a nice Sunday to you!

Gunnar,
This is a nicely composed shot of this quaint harbor. The angle of the shot is great creating a diagonal with the boats and dock. The dock provides a nice lead in for the shot adding to the depth and direction of the scene. The reflection add depth and balance for the shot. The lighting and colors are great as is the photo's sharpness.

Asa

Hej Gunnar,
Undoubtedly a very Swedish picture, not just because of the blue and yellow boat. The red buildings also seem very typical. I feel a pleasant atmosphere of late summer.

Hello Gunnar,
Another of your usual clear sharp, and very detailed pictures, full of colour. A soft tranquil sky, and there are fine reflections too.
I have done a WS along the lines of my recent ones for your consideration.
The main area of interest.
The slightly off-centre large white boat, and the blue and yellow yacht beside it. The tall yacht mast is right on a line of thirds [BLUE grid].
Links within the picture.
I have drawn a triangle [RED] showing the strength of the central part of the composition.
Leads in, or across an image.
The edge of quay leads across the right bottom corner of the image. There is also a strong lead along the line of red buildings, across the nearer boats, then on to the ones in the distance, giving a good sense of perspective.[YELLOW arrows].
Contrasting and/or complementary elements.
The strong blue of the sky, the water, the red of the sheds, the yellow/blue top of the hull of the yacht, and the red and white hull of the big boat.
Kind regards,
Peter.

Hej Gunnar,
this is a very beautiful - excellently composed – impression of the port with these typical boats and houses. The colors and the light are amazing. What I like most is the clarety and the atmosphere, one can almost smell the air. TFS!

Bonjour Gunnar,
scène portuaire toute calme avec de jolis reflets. Des lumières douces mais suffisantes pour donner des résultats parfaits au niveau des couleurs.
Le cadrage semble efficace.
Mes amitiés.

Hello, Gunnar.
A beautiful and clear shot of this fishing village.
Peter (graffer) has made his usual in-depth comments about the composition and has uploaded an excellent workshop demonstrating the principles of the composition here, so there's absolutely no more that I can add to that.
Probably more than composition, it is lighting which intrigues me most in pictures: the lighting here is just superb, starting with the dark broody sky, the dark water but, perhaps most of all, the lighting on the bows of the large boat - I can see subtle reflections from the water on the white hull.
Superb!
Best Wishes,
John.

Hello Gunnar,
The light is excellent, the weak undulations of water create pleasant reflections. Framing is descriptive of this small port full with colors. A superb and quiet image. I like. Cheer.
Have a nice day.

Being a sailing enthusisat and a boat owner I like that small sailing boat moored by the bigger trawler: they seem mother and son! Harbours have a unique charm for me and here you have found a nice atmosphere.

I love this kind of light on water as it seems to enhance the reflections wonderfully. Well composed image with the short walkway leading the eye towards the houses, and before going out of the frame, turning the corner leading us along the harbour and the boats.

Hello Gunnar,
I remember Båstad for the tennis and the most famous Swede ever - Björn Borg, hehehe!
But this is quite a different scene but no less attractive, a very summery feeling this day in late August...
Fine light, rich colours and good details!
