Photographer’s Note
The other day, some of us went to a place called 'Kolaghat', a erstwhile river port at the bank of the river 'Rupnarayan'. Kolaghat is around 60 km away from Kolkata (Calcutta). Our idea was to shoot beautiful white 'kash' flower (kans grass). Here kash grows in plenty as we noticed while passing through by local train. My photographer friend is walking in the sun through the train line towards a vast white field of 'kash' flower.
'Kash' is seasonal, appears this time in autumn. This marks the onset of the biggest festival time of 'Durga puja' (Goddess 'Durga') in West Bengal and elsewhere, where Bengalis stay.
