Avila is famous for his(her,your) medieval wall and for the quantity of churches in relation to the number of inhabitants (scarcely it(he,she) overcomes the 53.000). The name of the city has his(her,your) origin in the height to the one that is placed (1.182 meters of height) and to his(her,your) first inhabitants: the vetones, which were called it A Óbila (forest). Later the Romans populated it, giving Abila's name or Her(It) Abuse. Avila also is known as " Avila of the Gentlemen " and " Avila of the King ", in reference to his(her,your) history and importance spent(passed).
