ThoiBao Newspaper assigned me to Siem Reap, Cambodia -- not to photograph the Angkor Watt complex -- but to find out how effective its charitable fund to help local Vietnamese undocumented kids works.
The finding is too sad to tell, after the Vietnamese around the world has promote VOICE director as a skillful angel with magic fingers.
At the so-called "school" I found a temporarily rented house with 2 groups (classes) of kids who gathered for a couple of hours a day, taking one tablet of vitamin, a banana and a cup of milk. The morning group contains 9 kids, age 3 and 4. The afternoon group has 15 kids, age 5 and 6. I have been told there was a third group but during my week there, I missed the chance to see it.
I do not know how to report to the benefactors who donated money to this program via VOICE, but to let you do your own math: the fund that ThoiBao Newspaper relayed to VOICE to cover the miserable kids in this program is US$20,000.00 for one year.
It's up to you to decide whether to vote for VOICE while it declared on internet that there is NO other charity agency (but them) to help the Vietnamese children in Cambodia in fear of prostitution and illiteracy.
As I prepared to walk across an intersection, a dog jumped abruptly toward me. Turning left to see what happened, I discovered that a Vietnamese kid just won the fight to take victory over the trash container, to scavenge something to trade for his evening meal.
In Cambodia, a US$1.00 can keep a person survive one day. I now believe you can tell how many kids you can feed using $20K a year without the help of VOICE.

That is a heartening reporting you have done...
World over how the money raised by diaspora is being used in totally diametrically opposite and selfish goals is so frustrating and painful. Whoever makes his elfish ends by public money needs to be exposed and shunned.
What you have done in this direction is really commendable.
