Photographer’s Note

While having lunch at a restaurant by the Boa Vista Lake, two big animals ran by my table. At first I thought they were dogs, but in fact they were capybaras. I went after them and found around fifteen of them standing by the lake. The capybara, found in South America and Central America, is the biggest rodent on Earth. It is a relative of the rats, rabbits, and hamsters. Can you see the similarity?

Muito boa aproximação a estes animais "simpáticos". Gosto muito da nitidez da imagem assim como das cores muito naturais.

Também gostei da aproximação no bicho, que ficou com excelente nitidez, se destacando também pelo excelente uso da profundidade de campo! As cores também ficaram muito boas! Bom trabalho!

Sim, eles têm algo em comum com os coelhos , preás, hamsters ...Um pouco de cada. De fato, são uns simpáticos roedores!
Imagem nítida, precisa, divertida!Ótima apresentação , Fabiano!Espero que continue nos mostrando outras dessas! ( Antes, foi a simpática garça, uma linda composição também).

Você tem um zoom excelente! A aproximação do roedor ficou ótima e bem nítida. Aqui na lagoa da Pampulha temos também muitas capivaras, só que o cheirinho delas não está nada legal. Parabéns pela bela foto.

aí está um típico representante da fauna brasileira, e como você bem disse, de outros países da América do Sul e Central.

muito boa esta foto, ela parece estar fazendo pose, os pelos das vizinhas parecem uma daquelas saias de bailarinas clássicas. boa luz, nitidez e enquadramento. quem sabe na minha próxima viagem eu consiga fotos delas também

gran retrato aquí, este capibara parece un profesional posando con mucha simpatía para el fotógrafo.
Es muy divertido lo que explicas en tu nota, estar comiendo en un restaurante y ver estos animales corriendo hacia tu mesa como si fueran perros debe ser una experiencia muy especial.
Buena captura, muy espontánea.

I know these mixtures of rats, rabbits, and hamsters from the zoo, but here in their natural environment with the red soil and the blue water they look much more attractive.

I have heard about this animal, but have only seen it on television once. It certainly has an interesting face!! Are they gentle? Nice job capturing this portrait, including the feet. This capybara seems interested in posing for the camera. :-)

Un excelente primer plano de estos animales de los cuales nunca habia oido hablar y que parecen simpaticos y mansos. Una gran nitidez de la imagen que permite ver todo los detalles del pelaje, cabeza etc. el fondo difuso del agua hace un bonito fondo.

What have you done! First this picture made me click it and then I was already searching the Internet for more information about this rodent. Then I saw, they can weight up to 100 kg! That was really interesting and thanks for sharing it at TE. It's a fine composition with great sharpness and vibrant color hues. I like it a lot.

Yes, they look like hamster though in a bigger size ;)
It seems these animals are coming without any fear near the people, especially when eating! The close approach allowed to see nicely the details.
