Monemvasia is consisted of two settlements. Each one of them is located at a different level and has separate fortification. At Up Town (Epano Poli), which is now uninhabited, you will see the remains of buildings from the Byzantine and post-Byzantine period. The most significant is the octagonal domed temple of Saint Sophia. Many researchers identify this as the Church of Odigitria dating back to 1150.
Down Town (Kato Poli )is built at the acclivitous part southeastwards of the rock. It is inhabited until our days. The medieval town is a pole of attraction for thousands of visitors all year round. The Archaeological Department has taken over the reconstruction of old buildings, which now has a glory of old times. The tall stone-built houses, the narrow cobblestone paths and the churches take visitors back to past times. Many of the buildings operate now as traditional guesthouses. The atmosphere is really romantic and guarantees of an unforgettable stay.
The settlement is surrounded by a tall wall, two gates eastwards and westwards and a small exit to the sea.
Take a walk around Kato Poli and admire the imposing churches. The temple of Elkomenos Christ is a basilica church with a cupola and a narthex as and an Episcopal seat. In its interior you will have the chance to see important icons of the post Byzantine period.
The temple of Panagia Mirtidiotissa was built around 1700. It has an impressive wooden chancel screen. The temple of Saint Nikolaos is a dome-shaped basilica church with cupola. It was built around 1703.
The church of Panagia Chrisafitissa was found during the 17th century. It has a square champer and a small cupola.
Other smaller temples are: Saint Andreas, Saint Anna the Catholic, Saint Anna of the Second Venetian Rule (1690 – 1720), Saint Demetrios, etc. It is worth visiting the Muslim Mosque. The building dates back to the 16th century, but was turned into a Frankish temple during the Frankish Rule. During the 18th century, it became a mosque once again. Today it hosts the Archaeological Collection.

Very good idea to use the portrait format for this nice scenery.
Good also to see a daily life scene in the foreground and the church & the sea at background.
Perfectly balanced light and nice geometry.
TFS and best regards

Une image très bien composé, tout en verticalité. Une vue agréable. Cela semble quelque peu manquer de netteté néanmoins.

A very pleasing composition overlooking this delightful looking town. The cafe balcony is well placed to admire the view whilst whiling away the time over a drink or two. Very good colours and clarity.

Nice pov overlooking the terrace and surroundings, the hard sun probably explains why the terrace is so empty, but you kept your exposure under control
have a nice day JY

luce perfetta per una piacevole composizione, dove l'inserimento dei tavolini con le sedie, dà anche un piacevole senso di dinamicità.

What beautiful scene. Initially, I thought it was going to be Santorini, but I realized form the large image, the colors were not quite right for Santorini. It's a beautifully composed shot, rich in color and texture.

This looks like a very pleasant place to eat or maybe just have a drink. The view is very beautiful here and your composition is also very good. The blue colour of the sea in the background is in a fine harmony with all roofs.

You have a good eye to see the strong geometry here, Georgios,. The zig-zag composition brings together the various elements, the terrace, the church and the distant view. It nicely sharp with good colour and full of a Greek feeling. regards Kevin

I spotted the same church in this wider view as the one in your latest post. I like to see it in its surroundings. The diagonal composition works well. The tables and chairs together with their shadows make interesting patterns.
