Photographer’s Note

During our visit to Yosemite Valley in the summer of 2008, we had the pleasure of visiting Hetch Hetchy. The O'Shaughnessy Dam, built and completed in 1923, is seen in the far distance. The Dam is the starting point to the 5 mile round trip hike to this point located just under the Wampama waterfall. This is a beautiful hike, and well worth every out of breath step that you take. (or that I took) LOL...

This breath taking view is under much debate, with a very large stance going on, trying to get this Hetch Hetchy Valley restored to its natural state, as John Muir had wanted and fought for in the early 1900's.
