Photographer’s Note
I was driving from Durham, NC to Memphis, TN, and planned an overnight stay in Asheville, so I could wake up and watch the sun rise over the Smoky Mountains. The real beauty came later in the morning, after the sun had risen. The soft morning light over the mountains resulted in some of my best shots.
