Photographer’s Note

During monsoon season from July to October we can get even in a megacity like Bangkok some very great clouds and lights, mostly in the late afternoon. That was the case also two days ago, around 4.30 p.m. This is the view direction north east from our mansion in Bangkok, about 8 km from the banking center at Silom road.

In the early 1980s there was a huge swamp where our mansion stands since more then 12 years. We are still in the inner city, but there are huge patches of greenery which is just open space. Still loads of frogs live here, giving us a concert before and after rain.

At horizon you see the main road, the Sukhumvit Road 71 which also is known as Pridi Banomyong. It's about 12 minutes walking. These buildings actually are a "Muslim settlement" in the middle of a Buddhist majority. There even is a new mosque, which is a bit difficult to see - too many buildings obstruct the view.
