A show-off under blue hour Photo

At Little Caïd's express request...

This photo is especially dedicated to my son, Logan, who you perhaps know.

During our holidays, we visited the friendly port of Frejus, a lovely coastal town, located on the Côte d'Azur.
It is the only place where I had the opportunity to take some blue hour shots, except in our garden :-))

I had no tripod with me, so I had to put down my camera on the floor, and to try some attempts.

Some tourists were looking at me like a mad while I was desperately trying to have a look in the veiwfinder before clicking... But at least I could come back with what I wanted!

As a ws, I will add the same photo, taken just before, without show-off ;-)

Hi my dear!

lots and lots of wonderful blue, contrasting nicely with the white boats and that beautiful woman in the red pants! ;-)) Cool shot - and I prefer this one to the WS, because that one is missing the red pants.

Logan had a great idea. Tell him I said hi and have a great evening!

I had to laugh at your note, and can just imagine you running into position before the shutter went off. You didn't make it for the WS version? ;D This is definitely the best one as you are a striking contrast to all the blue. Your son has good taste. Excellent exposure. Well done

une heure bleue magique sous les cieux du sud, ca fonctionne toujours bien quand on sait maitriser l'expo, je préfére nettement celui ci au WS pas parce que le modéle est charmant, mais parce que le rouge et le noir des vêtements complétent bien les couleurs avec tout ce bleu et le peu de jaune, beau travail

The atmosphere at the blue hour is fantastic, the colours really splendid and the composition is really impressive.

Hello Marianne,

La perspective est peut-être effectivement moins bonne dans cette prise de vue mais je trouve que la présence de cette personne (qui est sagement restée immobile pendant la prise de vue...) donne un autre sens à l'image qui est peut-être un peu vide dans le WS.

Bonjour Marianne,

Pour ma part je prefere avec poseuse :-)
Ca met une presence dans l image et ca fixe la composition un peu mouvante avec le flou en premier plan. Ce dernier aurait ete plus aéré j aurais peut etre eu un avis different.
En plus, le pantalon rouge et une belle variation aux fameuses vestes rouges suisse.

Un endroit que je connais pour y être passé le 15 aout (jour du feux d'artifice dont je te parlais) non loin de là puisqu'il se passait à gauche de ce port ,ou on mange bien d'ailleurs.

arf, quelle photo !, on imagine l'état des quilles de tous ces bâteaux en train d'amirer cette si jolie poseuse

on devrait rebaptiser le ponton le "Rouget Lenoir" en souvenir du passage de ce photographe d'heure bleue inégalé.

j'ai vu cette photo hier soir,mais je n'avais plus de smileys verts,et je n'aurais pas pu ne pas en mettre un sur cette merveilleuse photo!Les couleurs sont vraiment sublimes,j'adore le contraste entre le bleu et le blanc,et je trouve la luminosité excptionnellemnt belle!

Hello Marianne,
At first glance it was a little overwhelming the intensity of the blue, when my eyes adjusted and it was fairly nice and really beautiful once I get over the first impression. Beautiful and relaxing and even romantic atmosphere, and the lovely lady is an attention magnet. Her red pants and the warm tone of her skin is beautiful and it call for all eyes to look at her. Even the intense blue can't compete. I think Little Caid has the greatest idea ever. Give him a big hug for me. Just Beautiful Marianne and the mystery woman. Love it.

Ciao cara Marianne,
questa ora blu è veramente bella, romantica e piacevole. La foto è stata fatta con eccellente qualità tecnica e grande senso artistico, con il movimento dei gommoni nel FG che rende viva l'immagine. Molto importante la presenza umana data dalla signora di spalle, che sembra ammirare il mare insieme a noi. Personalmente preferisco questa al WS, seppure è molto piacevole anche quello. Bravissima!

I agree with Kath that you son has a good taste :) love the shot, the intense blue creates an impression that you are sitting in front of a big screen advertising luxury vacation destination :) technically perfect shot too, excellent work.

Je partage assez l'avis de ton fils, cette charmante poseuse (qui semble avoir un bel air de famille avec toi o))apportant un point d'accroche au regard un peu perturbé par le mouvement des bateaux du premier plan. Du superbe travail. Tu es vraiment devenue la reine de l'heure bleue!

Bonjour, chère Marianne,
Très belle réussite malgré les contorsions et les regards obliques des touristes !
Il est toujours bon d'avoir dans sa sacoche un mini trépied pour ce genre d'exercice !
Le résultat est particulièrement remarquable. La poseuse indépendante de sa volonté fait ressortir à merveille les couleurs d'ensemble.

Bonjour Marianne :))) It is just AMAZING what came out!!! I mean you sound like you did this in a hurry, finding a quick solution without a tripod, then the tourists who were looking at you (this makes me, I don't know, a little nervous maybe) but the result, it can be seen, it is fantastic. The blue is really something, love the blur on the rubber boats and how the rest is glass clear, also you. Yes the red, your son has a great eye, he learns fast. Great show-off, hm, I have red pyamas but I don't know, maybe I rather hide them. LOL. Have a great weekend, Barbara.

Et oui la photographie demande de la disponibilité et ce n'est pas toujours évident, même en vacance. Le ciel est d'un bleu incroyable . Certains diront qu'avec Photoshop on peut faire la même chose, mais rien ne vaut le cliché sans artifice. Ici c'est parfait.

Les deux sont particulièrement intéressantes, mais j'ai un faible pour celle-ci, à cause... du ciel ;o)) un rien plus "favorisé" en hauteur que dans l'autre: le bleu est d'une telle intensité! La série de mâts donne un rythme incroyable avec une ligne de fuite en plein nombre d'or et la ponctuation de jaune et de rouge distrait juste ce qu'il faut de l'inondation de bleu.
Un heure bleue à épingler, à coup sûr ! Bravo!

Une sacrée heure bleue Marianne,
un temps de pose elévé qui nécessitait un sol stable, moins facile à faire en Islande ;-).
Heure bleue parfaite, nette avec des lumières portuaires magiques.

La poseuse avec son pantalon rouge est essentielle, et se détache très bien du fond bleu-blanc. La coque jaune d'un voilier, située à un point fort de l'image équilibre photographiquement ta photo.
